  • Most aircraft will land RWY 9 and takeoff RWY 27 

  • Arrive early in the day when winds are calm Pay attention to approach categories (most approaches only serve cat A and B) 

  • Consider holding at Cones VOR to visually identify the airport 

  • Montrose/KMTJ is the preferred diversion airport
